Piri Reis University is the first and only green campus project that is sensitive to its natural environment as well as being the first and only university that has a program in marine specialization. The campus, located on the seaside in Tuzla district of Istanbul, consists of various functions such as a library, a sports hall, a swimming pool, a cafeteria, offices, classrooms, meeting rooms, and a conference hall. As ZKLD, while designing the lighting of the campus, which aims to get a Breeam Certificate, spaces are analyzed carefully for required illumination levels and all of the calculations are reported in order to prove the achievements. The lighting of the landscape and the façade is considered together with the architecture. Gradual elevation changes in the architecture as well as the various textures of the landscape are highlighted by means of lighting.
